Explanation:

Let, Mahesh => 3x years
Ajay => 2x years
After 8 years.

$\frac{3x+8}{2x+8}=\frac{11}{8}$

=> 24x + 64 = 22x + 881
=> 2x = 88 - 64 = 24
=> x = 12

=> Therefore, Ajay's age 2x = $2 \times 12$ = 24 years
Therefore, Age of Mahesh's son
$= \frac{1}{2} \times 24$

= 12 years
